Chapter 29: Far Beyond Expectations

TLN: 2/2

Could it be that Trish and Princess Kasumi had intended to defeat me from the beginning?

Sheridan immediately dismissed that thought.

That’s right, there is no noble who would lend cards to Trish in the first place.

Furthermore, if there was such a powerful card that cost only three mana, it would be known to all the nobles in the country within a week.

Everyone wants to use strong cards and would think about countermeasures if they were being used against them.

Once it is used in an official match, it would become widely known.

But I have never seen such cards before.

What is it? What is it? A newly discovered card?

The more Sheridan thought about it, the deeper he sank into the quagmire.

“…Do you have no intention of winning, Brother?”

“Shut up!”

Trish smiled and taunting Sheridan.

“I summon another <King Machine Willy> and attack your <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō>! Furthermore, the destroyed <King Machine Percy> returns to my hand, allowing me to summon it once again!”

“I activate the effect of <Reinforcement Calling Conch Shell> that I use two turns ago, summoning two <Reliable reinforcements> to the field. They will now attack your <King Machine Willy> and <King Machine Percy>.”

<Reliable reinforcements> 3/3000/2000

This card can attack enemy units on the turn it is summoned.

<Reinforcement Calling Conch Shell>  summons units that take 2 turns to appear, which is a drawback. However, their strength lies in their 6000 firepower and the ability to enhance and utilize them for Joint Summons or Double Summons, making them extremely powerful.

If not used early in the game, they may not demonstrate their full potential.

As a result of this attack, the first <King Machine Willy> and <King Machine Percy> are destroyed, leaving <Reliable reinforcements> with 1000 life points remaining on the field.

“Furthermore, I summon <Drillante> and end my turn.”

<Drillante>3/1000/5000

[Shield Bearer]

Once per turn, this card inflicts an additional 2000 damage to an enemy unit it battles with.

A versatile shield-carrying card that was introduced in Season 8 and is still used today in Season 11.

Although it requires combat, the card is a sure-fire 1:2 replacement in the 3-cost range, and almost certainly 1:1 in the 4-cost range.

It comes with a once-per-turn limit, but this counts as one turn for both your opponent’s and your turn.

“What the hell! That card of yours! Explain!”

Sheridan was furious.

Indeed, it was true. Up until the fourth turn, Sheridan hadn’t seen a single card that he recognized. This was unthinkable because for many years, new cards were not discovered in this region, and the environment remained stagnant.

“I’ve said it multiple times, but I gathered the money and borrowed this deck in exchange for that money.”

“That’s why I’m asking you who it was! A noble? A royal?”

“Unfortunately, it’s neither of those. He’s a nice guy, though.”

“Shut up! I will question you as soon as this match is over! I activate ‘Rain of Rocks’ this turn!”

Rain of Rocks (5)

Deals 2000 damage to all enemy units.

A universal AoE damage spell introduced in Season 4.

Due to its versatility, it is occasionally used even in Season 11, demonstrating its longevity as a spell.

As a result of “Rain of Rocks,” only “Drillante” remains on Trish’s field.

“…Brother, do you think I came here without any calculations?”

“…What are you trying to say?”

“This is what I mean. I pay 5 costs and summon <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi> “

<The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi> 5/3000/8000

[Shield-bearer.]

[Iron Wall](This card takes 0 damage only once.)

When this card is placed on the field, if there is no <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō> or <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> on your field, choose one of them and add it from your deck or graveyard to your hand.

At the end of your turn, this card recovers 4000 toughness.

At the end of your turn, while this card is on the field, if you have the cards <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri>, <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi> and <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō> in your hand, activate its effect to reduce its cost by 1.

The main engine of the <The Three Heavenly Spears> deck.

Whether you can successfully land this card on the 5th turn can be considered the winning move.

Basically, <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> is the only card to bring in.

Since <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> has a cost of 7, naturally , reducing it by 1 allows for a smooth mana curve to summon it.

“With this card’s effect, I add <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> from my deck to my hand and attack <King Machine Willie> with <Drillante>.”

With that, on Trish’s field remained <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi> and the injured “Drillante,” while on Sheridan’s field remained <King Machine Willie> with remaining toughness of 2000.

On the next turn, when Sheridan draws a card, his face is filled with joy.

“I pay 6 costs and summon<King Machine Magafu>!’“

King Machine Magafu 6/8000/5000

When this card attacks, it nullifies all of the opponent’s effects.

When this card destroys an opponent’s unit, it can attack one more time.

When this card is destroyed, you can add one magic card with “King Machine” in its name from your deck to your hand.

Among the “King Machine” cards, it is quite powerful and ranks among the top cards in Season 6 overall.

Although it had suitable performance as an ace at the time, it is not being used in Season 11.

<King Machine> and <Earth King Machine> did not actually appear together; they appeared at different times, with one at the beginning and the other towards the end of the season. This can only be attributed to the convenience of the anime at that time.

Therefore, <King Machine> has specs that allow it to fight at a minimum level without relying on joint summons.

“You understand well the terror of this Magafu! Next turn, I will destroy that Takehaya-like unit of yours with this!”

Sheridan declares loudly while laughing, with no trace of early-game composure on his face.

“… my turn, I summon <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> with its reduced cost of 1.”

<The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> 7/9000/10000

When this card is placed on the field, if either <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi> or <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō> is on the field, activate the following effect:

Inflict 7000 damage to one opponent.

This effect can only be activated if there is an opponent’s unit on the field.

When <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi> is placed on the field, you can activate this effect: Increase the attack and toughness of <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi> by 2000.

When <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō> is placed on the field, you can activate this effect: <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō> can immediately attack.

When <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi>, <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō>, and <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> are all on the field,

Generate and add the Worth Card <The Three Spears of Heaven>.

This effect can only be activated once per player during the game.

When this card is destroyed in battle and sent to the cemetery, you may return any <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi>, <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō>, and <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> cards from your graveyard, except for this card, to the top or bottom of your deck.

The ace of the <The Three Heavenly Spears> deck.

It excels at delivering a powerful blow to the opponent, starting from <The First Heavenly Spear: Mitsutekubi> and continuing with relentless force.

The ability to grant immediate attack effects to subsequent <The Second Heavenly Spear: Nihongō> adds great flexibility.

Its weaknesses lie in the difficulty of assembling all three units on the field and only single-target destruction, making it challenging to maintain a strong formation against such threats.

<The Three Spears of Heaven> 5

Worth Card

Deal 15,000 damage to one opponent, ignoring all effects.

This spell can only be activated if there is a unit on the opponent’s field.

It can only be activated once per player during the game.

The finisher of the <The Three Heavenly Spears> deck, the key of this deck lies in how to strike the opponent’s face with this card.

“I will use the effect of <The Third Heavenly Spear: Kagerōkiri> to destroy <King Machine Magafu>, and with <Drillante>, I will attack and destroy <King Machine Willie>.”

“What! Who is it! And what is that deck of yours! I won’t acknowledge it! I won’t acknowledge those kinds of cards!”

“Please don’t make me repeat myself. I borrowed them, you see. From a wonderful person.”

Sheridan is becoming half-mad, and even the attendants behind him seem shaken, sensing the unfavorable situation.

“I’ll say it again. Do you think I came here without any chances of winning?”

Trish glares at Sheridan with piercing eyes.

With determination, she speaks these words.

“Prepare yourself, brother.”
